yeah
NO
the
brainchild of Chris Speed, was created in 1996, after
the improvisations the band made in their early rehearsals
were developed into an unusual book of music. Using their love of
free jazz, modern rock, eastern folk and minimalistic ideas as their
pallet they fused their strong individual
improvisational
talents into a warm, cohesive and explosive sound. Since their debut
record in 1997, they thrived in the center of new music in NYC,
and have toured in the States and Europe. After a run of three records
(yeah NO, Deviantics, Emit) on the Canadian label Songlines,
they
joined with the avant/experimental label Squealer
Records, who
released their latest cd ‘Swell Henry’ in 2004.
Cuong

Takeshi and Ted Poor. He has also toured/recorded with Pat Metheny.
Born in Reykjavik, Skúli Sverrisson graduated from Berklee College and has appeared on over 30 records with Icelandic artists, including his groups Pax Vobis and Mo Boma. Besides his ongoing collaboration with Laurie Anderson, he also has a brand new recording, Sería(12tonar) that won the Icelandic grammy for best record in 2006, and is on Blonde Redhead's new record, 23 (4ad).
Jim Black grew up in Seattle, moved to Boston in 1985 to attend Berklee, and has lived in Brooklyn since 1991.
